
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Masters Champion Tiger Woods, who captured his ninth Major championship last weekend at Augusta National Golf Club, has earned his seventh berth in the PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
The 2005 PGA Grand Slam of Golf, which brings together the winners of the year's four major championships, is Nov. 22-23, at Poipu Bay Golf Course & Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa in Kauai, Hawaii.
TNT will broadcast The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST and Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST.
Woods first appeared in the PGA Grand Slam of Golf in 1997, and after finishing runner-up that year to Ernie Els, went on to win five consecutive titles from 1998 through 2002. Phil Mickelson, last year's PGA Grand Slam of Golf Champion, set the Poipu Bay Golf Course record with a 13-under-par 59 and tied Woods' 36-hole standard of 127.
The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, which has the most difficult qualification standard in the game, brings together the winners of the year's four major championships -- the Masters, U.S. Open (June 16-19), British Open (July 14-17) and the PGA Championship (Aug. 11-14).
The event is televised to some 88 million U.S. homes by TNT Network and to more than 100 countries worldwide. The PGA Grand Slam of Golf is a two-day, 36-hole event, featuring a total purse of $1 million and a champion's first prize of $400,000.
